Fittings - Saddle Outlet Fusion
Return to Fittings
In Socket Fusion, the outside diameter of the pipe and the inside diameter of the
fitting is heated and joined together. With Saddle Outlet Fusion, the fusions
are in the wall of the pipe as well as on the curved outside diameter of
both the pipe and fitting. This makes it ideal for installing branch lines off
the main, manifolds, insertion of the gauges, etc. These connections can even be
made after the main lines have been installed. The use of saddle outlet connections
when building manifolds saves fabrication time and money. They also have lower
pressure losses than standard reducing tees.
PESTAN produces Saddle Outlet Fusion fittings. PESTAN Fittings are made from PP-RCT
resin. This is the same high performance material used in PESTAN Mechanical Pipe.
In addition to the outstanding performance characteristics of the resin, the
fittings are manufactured with a wall thickness and pressure rating that exceeds
the ratings on the pipe. The additional thickness of the fitting minimizes heat
transfer and the need for insulation of the fittings may be reduced or eliminated
in certain applications.
CT Piping Solutions offers fusion training to installers via local representatives
or through our affiliates. Trained and registered installers are critical for a
successful piping system and are required for that system to be covered under the
